This dvd is a good demonstration of two Chen style routines. The first is the 75 movement form old frame routine and the second is a 49 movement form of a Taiji straight sword routine. The dvd was filmed at Central Park in New York with Lou Reed providing the soundtrack and narration. The routines are shot from multiple angles so the watcher can have a better understanding of how to do the forms. Ren Guangyi is a well known international Taiji teacher and a senior disciple of grandmaster Chen Xiaowang. Ren Guangyi created the International Chen style Taijiquan Association to help promote the teachings of Chen Taiji. The author demonstrates martial applications and a longer more traditional routine for those who want to study at a more advanced level. The author also teaches about some traditional Taiji breathing techniques. The dvd is shot in multiple angles so the watcher can have a better understanding in how to do the forms. The dvd complements a book covering the same material. Shou-Yu Liang is an internationally known and well respected internal martial artist and qigong master. His website has information about training, classes, workshop, publications, newsletters, forums, and a listing of certified instructors.
